The Long Goodbye for Lotus Notes

Yes! Finally it looks like there will be some resolution to whether or not ACS stays in Notes. We’re going to have to move out. I think it has been a barrier to connection to the rest of the world for years.

    Microsoft Zeros In on Lotus

    A cadre of former Lotus software employees is leading a reinvigorated push at Microsoft Corp. to lure Lotus customers to .Net with new products and services.

    Over the next six to eight months, the Redmond, Wash., company plans to roll out a series of initiatives, including a tool kit, due this summer, that allows Domino developers to create Notes- and Domino-based Web services using Microsoft development tools such as Visual Studio .Net and Visual Basic.

  2. Will that allow us to stay in the Notes zone longer? I hope not. Being in Notes is like owning a Mac; you’re always in another world and have to jump through hoops to communicate with the “real” world.
