ONLINE GIVING TOPS $3 BILLION

Americans grow more comfortable with electronic donations, a study says in the Philanthropy Journal, today.  More than 8.6 million American households donated more than $3 billion on line last year, up  58 percent from 2003.

Three in four donors who go on line before donating say on line information helped them to decide whether or not to give,

More than one-third of on line donors made at least half of their contributions on line, while more than two in 10 made all their donations on line.

Are we getting our share?  Is our Web pages designed to be the most informative to new as well as seasoned donors.  Are we asking for the money in the right way?
