Wow! Yesterday I talked with Letitia Thompson of Mid-South Division about Project COMMAND, an electronic health record system for which Letitia and Mid-South won the Futuring and Innovation Center’s first Innovation Award. Great project to configure free software for small physician practices (small practices, not small docs) that helps them track the cancer prevention, detection, and treatment status of patients. Real benefits for patients and a real opportunity for ACS to work with community docs nationwide.
We also discussed Katrina (you know who I mean), its aftermath and how the Society’s Divisions are helping each other out and helping cancer patients.
Put on your earphones; you’re going to want to hear this!

Nicely done! Congrats to the COMMAND folks! I think if we can combine C-Tools 2.0 and COMMAND we will have a great 1-2 punch for providers of all levels!
