Austin’s Journalism Hackathon

The UT School of Journalism and the Statesman are hosting a Journalism Hackathon on Thursday, March 12 at the Austin American Statesman. Their goal is to foster opportunities for students and professionals to work together.

From their site “Don’t let the term “Hackathon” scare you. This doesn’t have to be a technical thing, though it certainly can be. Think of it more like committing group Journalism on deadline. If you have a project or story you’ve been trying to get off the ground and want some help getting started, you can recruit others (in advance or at the event) to help your cause. Or contribute to someone else’s story you find interesting.”
