It seemed to me that the video iPod didn’t make much sense unless there was a way to download about any TV show you wanted to it. So now TiVo is working on it.

The pioneering digital video recording company, based in Alviso, plans to
announce today that it is working on a service upgrade that will automatically
transfer shows from a TiVo recorder to a computer, which then can send those
shows to a video iPod or PlayStation Portable.

DVRs and iPod video make good companions. Oh, and other potential video content providers including ACS (why not?) ought to be making plans to create portable video material. I think this breaks the dam.
