SXSW and women bloggers

The SXSW (South by Southwest Interactive Conference) is coming up on March 10 and I was excited to see that BlogHer has focused on women bloggers attending the conference! The BlogHer site says:

"Queens…. of…. Cyberspace! The Austin Chronicle has a write-up on many of the women speaking at SXSW that makes me proud of my alternative weekly roots as a journalist. If you squint really hard, or check out the big cover here on my neglected Flickr blog, you’ll see their cover promotes Heather Armstrong, Ronnie Bennett, danah boyd, Barb Dybwad, Anastasia Goodstein, Lynne D. Johnson, Glennis McClellan, Maxine Sherrin, and Ruby Sinreich. (For those of you who don’t know, conference programmer Hugh Forrest has worked hard to walk his talk about a representative group of speakers. As a result, more than 100 of this year’s 300 speakers are women. He recruited BlogHer to produce five panels and we are just a drop in the bucket.)"

I am attending this conference and will try to blog a bit about it. And some fun: Austin local and BlogHer Contributing Editor Paige Maguire is welcoming the BlogHer throng to Austin by hosting a Friday Night BlogHer Meet-up!
