I think this is what they call the Red Queen Effect. In Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass the Red Queen told Alice, “It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place.”
No sooner had I posted the video about Health 2.0 than I ran into the following statement in an ad for a conference on consumer health:
Attend the Health 3.0 Summit to find out how new web technologies, consumerism and advanced care delivery will change everything in the healthcare industry. The latest innovations in healthcare have arrived, transforming the traditional healthcare business model. Dubbed ‘Health 3.0′ by industry leaders, this trend represents the meeting point of several key components: 1) social networking technologies, 2) enlightened consumerism, and 3) globalization, all of which are converging to provide real solution options for patients, payers and providers. The summit will address today’s hottest topics, including the fully wired consumer & the ubiquitous web, future technologies connecting patients, providers and payers, and radical visions for the health plan of the future.
Whoosh! Right through Health 2.0 to 3.0. Who’ll be the first to lay claim to Health 4.0?
There is money to be made in conferences. Seems like everyone is trying to cash in on the new “it” technology terminology.
The link to “video about Health 2.0” goes to a WordPress login page.
Cheers!
