Leaving the American Cancer Society

It is with bittersweet emotions that I wanted to let you all know I am giving my notice to the American Cancer Society. I have been approached by many organizations since winning the American Marketing Associations Non Profit Social Media Marketer of the Year.  And I have taken an offer from one of those organizations.

This new job  will let me concentrate heavily on getting my own non profit “Lights. Camera. Help.” off the ground and running in 2010.  They are a marketing/pr agency with a strong digital department and a concentration on Non Profit communications. I will be helping them start their Austin TX office.  More on that launch in later posts.

I will be/am still the founder of Lights. Camera. Help and my blog will continue to be about the intersection of  Social Media, PR/Marketing and Technology with Non Profits.

My last day will be Nov 20th.

  2. Congrats! I look forward to seeing where your new direction takes you.

  3. Ditto–And props on the transparency too. We’ll be sure to stay tuned and wish you the best along the journey!

  4. Being one of the 10.3% unemployed, is American Cancer Society going to replace your position? And if so do you know who to contact if someone is interested? Or have they already figured out who is going to take your place.

  5. Congrats, Dave! Best of luck
