I’m encouraged to see #GivingTuesday really taking off, not just in the US, but in the UK as well this year. It was also exciting to see #GivingTuesday locations trending across the map. And some big names getting into the action. Including my own CEO, Bob Moritz with this tweet below:

And the folks at Crimson Hexagon powering the official #GivingTuesday word cloud:

I also loved this cute campaign from a nonprofit with a very serious mission.
The National Domestic Violence Hotline is getting in the holiday spirit with its #GingerbreadForGood campaign. Volunteers and staff members are busy building a small replica of The Hotline out of gingerbread and for each person who donates on #GivingTuesday, we will add a hand-decorated “gingerbread” person to our growing community of supporters. Reminds me of the shamrock donation cards that nonprofits do in conjunction with retail partners.
Every gift to The Hotline helps increase our ability to serve domestic violence victims and survivors. A gift of $20 – or more – means one call or chat answered and one step closer to safety for someone experiencing abuse. Thanks to the generosity of the Avon Foundation for Women, that $20 donation will go even further. As part of its #Giving Tuesday efforts, the foundation has announced it will match every donation The Hotline receives during the holiday season up to $500,000.
If you haven’t given yet take a second to help them spread the word so that we may raise as much as $1 million dollars? To learn more about the #GingerbreadForGood campaign, please visit: http://www.thehotline.org/2014/11/take-part-in-gingerbreadforgood-this-holiday-season/
