The folks over at Conduit think they do. What do you think? This is from their latest press release. Conduit today announced “Conduit Gives” a new program to help non-profits of all sizes ignite their fundraising campaigns.
According to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, donations are down 9% this year, causing non-profit organizations to cut critical programs; some organizations are even in jeopardy of closure. Conduit wants to help make a difference for these organizations as the poor economy drags into 2010.
As part of the program, non-profits that leverage the Conduit Platform can now also offer their members the official Conduit Gives button. Every time a user clicks the button, Conduit will make a donation to the non-profit. Users may participate up to once a day, every day throughout 2010. Just by being involved and thinking about their organization each day, every person can make a big difference without making a donation.
In total, the Conduit Gives program will provide non-profit organizations the opportunity to earn over $300,000 a month and $3.6 million in funds total in 2010. The deadline to apply for this free program is February 15, 2010. Up to 100 non-profit organizations of all sizes will be selected to participate.
“Since Conduit was founded in 2005, we have been helping web publishers to engage their communities and extend their content and brands into the browser and desktop,” said Adam Boyden, President of Conduit. “We noticed the impact that this economy is having on non-profit organizations and so we created Conduit Gives to give back. These non-profits will now not only have a way to engage their community members and promote their causes, but also to raise money with a simple daily interaction.”
