Michael Dell Calls for Government Support in Expanding Technology

According to Michael Dell, CEO of Dell, Inc., the expansion of technology into developing countries relies on
governments that will create an environment favorable for foreign
investment.

In his speech at the WCIT, Dell says the cell phone likely will be the first
technology of choice in many rural areas. Cell phone networks already
reach 70 percent of the world’s population, while the United Nations is
hoping to extend broadband access to half the population by 2015.

Details were reported by the Austin American-Statesman., and in his slides.
