Giving, but for what?

There’s a special section of the NY Times today on giving and charity. Part of the lead article raises the question of whether some tax exempt organizations are appropriate, because it appears that a lot of the donate dollars aren’t tricking down to the poor and those most in need. In other words, some are claiming charity "ain’t what it use to be." If you want to read the set of articles, do it soon before they disappear into the pricey Times archives.
