Some see the future of medicine as “personalized medicine.” It’s based on gathering deep information about us from two molecular sources: complete genomes and biomarker monitoring. Full genome scanning at low cost is promised by companies like Pacific Biosciences. And places like the Institute for Systems Biology are working on microfluidic detectors for proteins in the blood. With all this is the potential to predict, prevent, personalize and participate-ize health.
