RFL Blogathon??

Blogathon 2005 will kick off on August 6 and I think they could be on to something.  They held the first one in July 2001 and it raised $20K, and in July 2003, they raised $103K through 400 participants. Essentially they’ve pre-selected a group of charities and recruited bloggers that will post every thirty minutes while raising money on behalf of the charities of choice.  Is it me or does this sound familiar (sans the multiple charities…it sounds like a sort of virtual RFL). This model could easily be replicated to produce a RFL Blogathon.

  1. This is a great idea! Kind of like the type of fundraising Public TV does, but on blogs.
