Global demographics through 2050

An article to appear in Science projects global population through 2050. On aging:

The 20th century will probably be the last when younger people outnumbered older ones. By 2050, there will be 2.5 people aged 60 years or older for every child 4 years old or younger, a shift that has serious implications for health care spending for the young and old.

Welcome, CA Division staff!

If you’re looking for FI Space, this is it!

Look around. Make yourself at home.

Things are posted from the most recent at the top of this main column to earlier posts as you scroll down.

Over in the right column (note the ACS brand-compliant red!) you’ll find some links about FI Space and who posts directly to it. Under that is a list of topics. Click on a topic and all posts related to it will scroll out from most recent to earliest.

Under that is a link to Springboard, the Futuring and Innovation Center program to promote innovation in ACS. You too could be a grant-winning innovator! Check it out.

Further down: the 10 most recent posts, then the 10 most recent comments, and, finally, the deep archives going back to August when we first started this.

Speaking of comments, that’s where you come in—or chime it. You can have your say about the information posted or about an opinion expressed by clicking “Comments” at the end of any entry. Don’t be shy; all views appreciated.

If you have some comment or question, click “EMail Me” way down on the right and fire off a note to me.

Again, welcome.
