What do you love about Austin? Film it.

What should Austin save? It is an important question for a city growing so dramatically. Starting Friday, October 22, the National Trust for Historic Preservation will roll its video cameras at locations across town with one goal in mind – to capture your answers. Join them at one of their 13 meet-ups and speak your mind about the city you call home. What places define it? What do you want the future to look like? What is historic preservation and how can it help?

Austin Social Media Club at KLRU

I’m lucky enough to be a volunteer leader over at the Austin Social Media Club. We had a great opportunity to do something good out in our community and we volunteered at KLRU, which is our local PBS station. Here are some clips from that night.

SXSW Summary – Crowd Sourcing Social Change

Hey All,

So I am back from SXSW (such a loooong trip ;-) ) and wanted to do a quick re-cap of all the amazing things we learned from folks at our “Crowd Sourcing Innovative Change Panel”. The best part for me was hearing from the over 300 people who packed into our room to hear the panel. They had an amazing array of ideas and arguments that bursted at the seams to be hears. It’s the largest crowd I have spoken too at SXSX so far. Here are some of the great articles people wrote about the panel to represent those thoughts.

- Crowdsourcing a Panel

- Crowdsourcing Customer Service

-Lessons in Crowdsourcing

- Beth Kanter UStream Interview

- 10 Ways Crowdsourcing Rocks

- How scrappy is your Crowdsourcing?

- The #CrowdX Hashtag Results (pages and pages)

And of course here is our Powerpoint:
