Selling My House The Social Media Way – Mix and Match

The beauty of Social Media is the not just making things transparent, not just letting people express themselves, it’s not just that almost everything is free (From Flickr to Twitter) it’s that Social Media begs you to experiment. Not only do a video for your product (like the video for my house) but also take photos and then experiment! Don’t just put the photos on Flickr add them to your Facebook . Or better yet make a FAN PAGE on Facebook and invite all your friend to join. Then add your video to that page. My tip of the day with Social Media? Experiment and then Mix and Match!

Selling my House the Social Media Way – A Photo…

So I am soooo very close to putting my house up on the market.  Last week it was the painting and this week it’s one of the oldest forms of Social Media Online, putting your photos on Flickr. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words…..so enjoy. All the photo were take by Meredith Maples from Austin, TX. And the badge below is super easy to make. Some examples would be events your non-profit has. Instead of linking to a 100 photos one by one put them on Flickr and then create a badge of them. Or start a group and let people add their own photos from the event. All easy and free with Flickr.

Selling My House the Social Media Way – Part Eight

So right now my house is being painted. And you know how that happened? Not using the yellowpages for sure. Here’s the scoop on the Social Media aspect of painitng.  I know Michell Greer (@michellegreer) in fact I helped organize a tweet up blood drive with her (social media for social good and all that). However recently she told me “No more free stuff dude“, which although it saddens me I completly understand. She has bills to pay. However on the side she helps Burmese refugees.

So even though she pretends to be hardcore business lady she thought how can I help? So she asked if she could train the Burmese folks to paint my house. This way I pay a fair price, she helps people, and they learn a skill they can use here in Austin, TX.

So far social media is working people…..believe!
