50 Free NTEN Memberships from Convio

You guys all know a couple of things about me. I don’t sleep, I don’t own a TV, I love non profits, and I love NTEN. So when my good friend Jordan wanted me to Blog this I was all about it! Check this out!

“Nonprofit holiday hero” campaign is giving away free, annual NTEN memberships by way of nomination by peers — In the spirit of the holiday season, we’re teaming with NTEN to give away 50 free memberships to new NTEN members by:

· Allowing people to nominate their peers as “holiday heroes” online, telling why they are deserving of the free membership at www.convio.com/nphero, live on morning of Monday December 14th, inspiring anyone and everyone to recognize the amazing people in the nonprofit world who deserve a shout-out and public acknowledgment.

· Using social sharing through Twitter, Facebook and other social media channels to spread the opportunity through the nonprofit community online and create positive and uplifting conversation during the holidays – and, hint hint, we’ve been promised a fun video from Holly and team over at NTEN to help spread the word on this one to be posted on the site next week…

So who will you nominate? Let us know in the comments below!

My baby is all grown up. What do you think?

One of my huge projects at the American Cancer Society was the launch of SharingHope.TV from Alpha to Beta to Gamma to Launch. It was re-branded and refreshed in late November. If you haven’t had the chance go take a peek at what NPR once called “the new face of giving“.

Here is the kind of stories you will find there.

THANK YOU WEEK – Looking to Hire? My Job Description

What a wild week! I would like to conclude THANK YOU WEEK here at 501derful.org by posting one of my favorite documents. This is what I was hired to do while I was at the American Cancer Society : Director of Online Communications. Of course this changed over time. A LOT!  I came to supervise the Manager of eRevenue and the Manager of Interactive Media (while mentoring them both) and a Social Media Intern. My final title was Director of Web, Film and Interactive Strategy.

However this was the orginal document and makes a great platform to change and adapt. So go out and hire your own Online Communications person.  Edit and modify it as you see fit.

Leave me comments on what you want to see in our next THANK YOU week.

THANK YOU WEEK – Coming Soon

Hey Readers!

I am on vacation all this week but I wanted to let you know about a special upcoming event here at 501derful.org. And that is THANK YOU WEEK! Basically this is a week where I do nothing but thank all the wonderful people that have made this Blog what it is today.

I will be doing that by sharing a ton of information with you. From the Social Media Documents I created at the American Cancer Society (in an editable foramt) to almost all the notes from the Austin Non Profit Bar Camp that I helped create.

So stay tuned THANK YOU week is going to be freaking HUGE.
